California Oaks is a project of the California Wildlife Foundation focused on preserving the state’s oak forest ecosystem and its rural landscapes. As oak trees make a substantial contribution to our state’s air quality, climate stability, clean water supply, and sustainable wildlife habitat, protecting California’s oak habitat is vital to maintaining the state’s biodiversity, climate and beauty, as well as the health and well-being of all Californians.
California Oaks continues to build partnerships, coordinate efforts, educate the public, provide resources and garner financial support in order to conserve oak woodlands in the face of ever-increasing pressures of urbanization and climate change.
